This is a series of 14 illustrations for Hannah Jewell’s anthology, She Caused a Riot: 100 Unknown Women Who Built Cities, Sparked Revolutions, and Massively Crushed It.
The goal of this project was to create a cohesive series of illustrations that reflect the biographies of the women featured in Jewell’s book.
I decided that linocut prints were the best medium to symbolically portray these women’s lives and stories. I created initial line drawings and then transferred them onto linoleum blocks for printing.
